lfpike: to the person who asked the question about G/S not saving

this is a problem with gen 2&3 games. basically because the game cart has it's own battery (so it remembers the time and stuff) and when that battery runs out it seriously messes the game up, because it can't remember the real time stuff it can't save your game. nintendo do not manufacture spares, but it is a bog-standard watch battery, even though the effort taking the cart about and changing the battery would be about the same as buying a whole new cartridge.

  2. apandathing said: Some old game stores will replace batteries for you for a small fee. This isn’t just a problem with 2nd and 3rd gen, it’s any gameboy cartridge. They all have batteries. The very first pokemon game I played with a Red cartridge that wouldn’t save.
